Bet Dallas
The Dallas Cowboys finished last season with a record of 8-8 and missed the playoffs. This season, oddsmakers are setting the Cowboys win total at 9.5, one of the higher totals in the NFC. FanDuel has given Dallas the fourth-best odds in the NFC to win the NFC Championship and the sixth-best Super Bowl odds. The Packers are listed as an 8/1 betting choice to win the Super Bowl. If you wager $100 on Green Bay to win the NFC and they capture the championship, then you would win $800 (8 ÷ 1 x 100). Your online betting account would then credit your account $900, which includes your win and stake ($100).

Dallas is the hotbed for sports betting in Texas, thanks to the great interest having a professional sports team in each of the major North American sports brings to the city. With a population of 1.33 million in the city and a massive 7.3 million in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, there are more than enough sports fans to support a strong variety of major league sports teams.
The Dallas Cowboys of the NFL are without a doubt the most popular team in the region, and quite possibly the most popular NFL team in all of the United States. They have a competitive team at the moment, which could mean even more people in Dallas start to pay attention to ‘American’s Team’. On top of the Cowboys, the area is also home to the Texas Rangers of the MLB, the Mavericks of the NBA, the Stars of the NHL and FC Dallas of the MLS. It’s a great time to be a sports fan in Dallas with the Dallas Mavericks building a competitive team lead by Luka Doncic, and the Stars becoming contenders in the NHL.
Is Sports Betting Legal in Dallas?
Operating a sportsbook and taking wagers is not allowed in the State of Texas.
That said, it is legal for Texas residents to place bets with offshore betting sites, such as the pair I’ve outlined below. These sites are licensed and regulated by jurisdictions outside of the United States making them legal and allowing them to accept American bettors. In fact, Bovada, our top rated betting site, actually only accepts American residents as this allows them to fully cater their sportsbook to the USA demographic.
Best Betting Sites for Dallas Residents
- Built for American bettors
- Wide variety of competitive betting lines
- Easy to navigate betting platform
- Accepts players worldwide
- Competitive betting lines
- Fast & easy deposits and withdrawals (including Bitcoin)
These are our two recommended betting sites for Texas residents. Both sites are very popular across the United States and offer a safe and secure platform for placing your sports bets.
Offline Sports Betting in Dallas
Offline sports betting is not allowed in the State of Texas. If you are only willing to place your wagers through a brick and mortar sportsbook then unfortunately you will have to travel out of state to find a legal land based bookie.
That said, Texas does allow you to wager on horse races live at the tracks and one of the top horse racing tracks in Texas is located just outside of Dallas.
Lone Star Park
Lone Star Park is a quick 20 minute drive to the west of downtown Dallas. This is the most popular horse racing track in the State of Texas. The race track is only 20 years old and it played host to the Breeders’ Cup back in 2004.
You will be able to wager on live races during the spring thoroughbred season between April and mid July, as well as during the Fall Meeting of Champions which runs from early September through November. You will also be given the opportunity to wager on races from across the USA at the track.
If you aren’t able to make it to Lone Star Park for a race you’d like to bet on, you can also place your horse racing wagers at either of the betting sites I’ve outlined above.
***I should also note that betting on sports outside of horse racing is not permitted at the racetrack.

WR DeAndre Hopkins had six receptions for 131 yards and a TD.The Cowboys kicked a field goal as time expired to beat the visiting New York Giants 37-34 last Sunday. After Prescott’s injury, Dalton (9 of 11, 111 yards) steered an 11-play, game-tying drive (field goal) with 1:56 remaining. Money line (?)
Best Dallas Cowboys Players Of All Time
The COWBOYS (-112) are the play. They actually opened as the underdog, but the line has since moved, making them a small favorite. Dalton deserves more respect than he gets and will fill in just fine as Prescott’s replacement. His past struggles can be attributed to a bad Cincinnati Bengals offensive line that couldn’t protect him.
While the Cardinals beat the winless Jets last week, they still lost to a bad Detroit Lions team in Week 3. Murray should have a field day against Dallas’ awful defense, but the COWBOYS (-112) win in a shootout.
Against the spread (?)
The Cowboys -1 (-110) are a decent play, but since I’m banking on a straight-up Dallas win and backing the ML, I’m going to PASS. If you prefer to give the point and pass on the Dallas ML, go for it. I wouldn’t blame ya.
Over/Under (?)
The OVER 54.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1.5 times your usual bet. As mentioned, the Cowboys defense ranks last in points allowed. The Cardinals’ 20.4 PPG looks better than it actually is. Two of their wins came against the NFL’s lowest-scoring team in the Jets (30-10) and the 29th-worst scoring Washington Football Team (30-15).
